Yesterday I made major progress on revising the listing categories for Creative Houston and developing a new business model for the Columbia Club.
At www.CreativeHouston.org, the listing categories are being rearranged so that when you hit the home page, you will see a real inventory of the creative economy in Houston. After entering the first 200 listings, it's now clear how they should be categorized, and it's a lot of work, but it needs to be perfect before the next 500 listings come in.
At Columbia Club, we're finally going to become incorporated as a real nonprofit, thanks to member Zach Craft. The timing is great because our web hosting company is raising its rates, so we can move, I hope, to Google Apps for Nonprofits. But first, we need a business plan, and I'm using the Business Model Generation system to get started. I'm really impressed with it. We'll also need a checking account, and I'm excited about Charity Manangement Services at Wells Fargo.
Finally, the Goldesberry Gallery is delivering my new Gertrude Barnstone floor lamp this afternoon. Pictures soon!
