Trying to figure out how to get the best of the routine and the best of a break while visiting Austin #li
Breaks in our routine are really valuable to our creativity, but we have to figure out how to balance. What part of the routine just get dropped? What part has to be protected to maintain productivity?

Durwin Sharp is Chief Idea Catalyst at Virtual Thinking Expedition, and whenever I get stuck he helps me find a way out. He's great at getting whole teams unstuck, as well.

Discovered that when I fall behind on my reading, my creativity stalls
Less was accomplished today than I hoped. I spent way too much time looking for things. But I think that was just dithering from the fact I haven't been doing my evening reading over the last few days. It's like my well has run dry.

All my teams are unpaid volunteers, so keeping them involved is very challenging.

Since I work mostly on my own these days, my projects do not make quick progress, but I learn tremendously, and there's very little strife. My projects and I evolve.

Revisiting the “Passport to Loyalty” concept this week in light of what I figured out last week #li
Last week I found new insight into the way loyalty operates in our minds. The 'passport to loyalty' application is an experiment in consumer-led loyalty. We actually start with a handheld printed guide, and then leverage what we've learned onto a information system.

Today did not work out as planned, but I found a way to make it productive
Well, I didn't get to sending out email updates, but I spent some time writing my bio, and made many more updates to the Creative Houston database than I expected. Tomorrow, I should be able to finish the Columbia Club plan (draft 2) without interruption.
