  • Why loyalty is a feeling, not an activity

Fourth of July seems to be a good day for me to pontificate about what loyalty means.  First off, I'd like to differentiate loyalty and love. • As is traditional for me, staying at home on the holiday, catching up on my reading #li

Since I don't enjoy crowds, it's my tradition to stay at home and catch up on my reading. I have two new (to me) books on managing nonprofits, recommended by Steve Barnhill of Edge Creative Strategies, Small Change by Michael Edwards and Uncharitable by Dan Pallotta.

  • Today did not work out as planned, but I found a way to make it productive

Well, I didn't get to sending out email updates, but I spent some time writing my bio, and made many more updates to the Creative Houston database than I expected. Tomorrow, I should be able to finish the Columbia Club plan (draft 2) without interruption.

  • Progress on business plans and reconfiguring www.CreativeHouston.org categories

Finally finished reconfiguring the categories on the Creative Houston web site, but now to many of them are sparsely populated. Feel free to create a profile and add listings for me. Today I made major progress on the Columbia Club business plan and handed the introduction off to an alumni/prospective investor. Am I allowed to…

  • Lunch today with an old alumni, so will tidy up the biz plan to share #li

I'm meeting Jerry Davis at a lunch today, so that's a good incentive to make the Columbia University Club of South Texas plan look nice. It's not finished yet but we are planning to raise money to bring Columbia U. students to Texas for internships.
