Desktop Application Connects SW Airlines to 2 million Customers

When Southwest Airlines decided to offer a desktop application to their customers, it was a pretty smart way to help them keep up with schedules and prices, especially considering that Southwest doesn’t offer their flights through aggregators like Expedia. Now Southwest says they now have 2 million subscribers that keep Southwest Airlines as a companion brand on their computer, and they are now being rewarded with exclusive notice of discounts specific to the cities they select.

"Our customers love DING! and have asked us to offer the ability to customize their airport offers sent through the tool," said Anne Murray, Southwest’s senior director of online marketing. "We are now offering even better deals on specific flights only available through DING! …The sale fares are only available on DING! which has booked more than $130 million in fares.
