Musicians Sam Phillips and others forging a new relationship with their audience
I recommend this entire LA Times article about how musicians have given up on finding the "new business model," and, instead, are simply working with the audience to try new methods and connections. These efforts put the audience first, then determine what they value. I'm fascinated to find out how many businesses, media-focused or not, can…

In Houston we have the bayou, in Boston they have the fens. My daughter just got an apartment that looks toward this park.

At Art Car Parade this year, I focused on people and details. Set uploaded to Flickr
We had cloudy weather at this year's Art Car Parade, which actually made photography easier. Instead of trying to photograph whole cars, I concentrated on collecting pictures and interesting details. I've put together a set designed to run as a slide show on Flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/qviews/sets/72157624024155574/show/

Today is a day for resetting expectations. Unfortunately, I have too many expectations!
One of the great things about going away to an inspirational conference like GEL is that you begin to rethink your priorities. Marketkeeping is about setting expectations carefully,…

Today is a day for stepping out with a new perspective. Like this one from the High Line park in NYC
As Wikipedia says, "The High Line is a 1.45-mile (2.33 km) New York City park built on a section of the former elevated freight railroad of the West Side Line, along the lower west side of Manhattan." Learn more at www.TheHighLine.org.

My 50 pictures of NYC based on 1984 memories are ACTUALLY up on Flickr now
The guy in the newstand doesn't look old enough to have been there 25 years ago, but the booth does look exactly the same. Here's the set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/qviews/sets/72157623969952356/

Still there after 25 years: Slide show of things I remember from the Upper West Side up on Flickr
I've uploaded 48 images I took this morning while walking my old route to and from graduate school in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I lived at Broadway and 75th and went to school at the Columbia Business School. I used to love walking back from school through Riverside Park, especially when the cherry…

Project for the day: Travel Manhattan and take pictures of things still here since I left in 1984
As I walk around Manhattan, the landscape has changed so much. Not just the stores and the shops but the parks and the buildings, and the way the landscape feels. So my project for the day is to walk in my old haunts and snap pictures of the few places which are the same as…
